What Information We Collect

We collect five types of information. Each type has a clear reason for existing in your record.

  1. Account data. Your first name, email address, date of birth, gender, and country of residence. This is the minimum needed to open an account.
  2. Profile content. Photos, your bio, languages, interests, relationship goals, and search preferences. You choose what to add and you can edit or remove it at any time.
  3. Verification records. If you request a verified badge, we review an identity document and, in some cases, a short live video check. We store the review result and the date, not a permanent copy of the document image beyond the retention window below.
  4. Payment data. Card payments are processed by third-party payment providers. We receive the transaction amount, date, status, card brand, and last four digits. Full card numbers and security codes are never stored on our servers.
  5. Technical data. IP address, browser type, device type, language settings, pages viewed, and login and message timestamps.

Why We Process Your Data

Each purpose below is tied to a legal basis. We do not process member data for reasons outside this list.

  • Contract performance: creating your account, showing your profile in search, delivering messages, running video calls, and managing your membership.
  • Legitimate interest: fraud prevention, duplicate-account detection, content moderation, abuse reports, and platform security.
  • Consent: marketing emails, push notifications, and non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time without losing access to your account.
  • Legal obligation: tax records, invoices, chargeback and dispute files, and lawful requests from authorities.

Cookies and Tracking

We use four cookie categories: strictly necessary, analytics, functional, and marketing. Strictly necessary cookies keep you signed in and protect the checkout session, so they cannot be switched off. The other three run only with your consent. The full cookie table, storage periods, third-party services, and step-by-step browser instructions for Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge are published in our Cookie Policy.

How We Store and Protect Your Data

Data moving between your device and our servers is encrypted with SSL/TLS. Stored account records, message content, and verification results are encrypted at rest. Access is limited to trained staff who need the data for a specific task, and every access to a member record is logged.

Retention works like this: account and profile data is kept while your account is active; verification images are deleted within 90 days of the review decision; billing records are kept for seven years because tax law requires it; technical logs are kept for 12 months. After you delete your account, we remove your profile from public view immediately and erase personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law.

One safety rule no platform can enforce for you

Never send bank details, card numbers, wire transfers, gift cards, or crypto to someone you met online - not even after months of talking. Our staff will never ask you for a password or a payment outside the site. If someone pressures you for money, report the profile and read our guide to spotting fake profiles and scams.

Who We Share Data With

We share only what a service provider needs to do its job, under a written contract. The categories are:

  • Payment processors, for card and wallet transactions and refunds.
  • Identity-verification providers, for document and video checks you request.
  • Hosting, storage, and email infrastructure providers that run the platform.
  • Analytics providers, for aggregated traffic and performance reporting.

We do not sell member data. We do not share your profile details, photos, or message content with advertisers or data brokers. We disclose data to authorities only when a valid legal request requires it.

Your Privacy Rights

You can exercise the following rights from your account settings or by emailing our privacy contact. We respond within 30 days.

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: fix inaccurate account or profile details.
  • Export: receive your account and profile data in a machine-readable file.
  • Deletion: close your account with one click in account settings; deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
  • Marketing opt-out: unsubscribe from any email or turn off notifications without closing your account.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law, so no opt-out is needed. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Age Requirement and Minors' Data

EuroPassions is for adults aged 18 and over, as stated in our Terms & Conditions. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we suspend it immediately and delete the associated data.
